The Settlement has seen successful growth in FY09 through its core programming, including Adventure Stage Chicago, AmeriCorps, Emergency Services Program, Head Start, House In The Wood, and the School Age Program.  Major accomplishments in FY09 included:

    • Northwestern Settlement opened Rowe Elementary School (temporarily housed in the Noble Street Charter campus, Golder College Prep) on September 8, 2009 as a contract school under the Renaissance School Fund 2010 program.
    • Rowe Elementary School Principal (Ana Martinez) and Director of Operations (Lindsay Korn) were brought on to begin the opening process in early 2009.
    • Rowe Elementary School was approved as a charter school by the Chicago Public Schools Board on November 23, 2009.  It will begin operating as a charter in July 2010.
